About Us

The Pickle Station came to life about 20 years ago, as an idea that my mother had.  The Shop itself is an old Pickle Station which was used in the 1940's as exactly that...a Pickle Station.  Pickles would be brought here from the fields to be sorted before heading off to the canning facility.  Mary had wanted to run a gift shop, and the building was here.

After finding many neat handmade gifts made by various people in the area, she decided to open the shop.  Not really knowing what to call it, she asked me, her daughter, to repaint the old door until we figured out the right name for the place.  After painting over the old door 3 times, the words Pickle Station continued to bleed through the new paint.  Looking at each other, we had decided that the building was going to be The Pickle Station, as it seemed to have named itself.  So, here we are!

We still carry unique gifts, cards, crafts, jewelry, perennial, natives, edibles, and, of course, pickles!  We are currently expanding into our own farm market, and continue to play in the dirt, designing and constructing fabulous landscapes through the Secret Society of Dangerous Gardeners!  Are you dangerous enough?!  I bet you are!  Please stop by to chat.

Have a wonderful day!
